RESPONSIBILITIES: Applies information security tool installation experience including supporting a program of assessments, planning, reporting, monitoring security procedures, and participation in system design/development reviews, testing, and installations. The Specialist participates in the planning of implementation of security and access requirements for a network and/or telecommunications environment. Knowledgeable on information security programs and related plans. The Specialist will have the ability to formulate and implement a security operations plan. Analyzes and evaluates security compliance in an integrated network and/or telecommunications environment. Analyzes, evaluates, and implements security tools and methods regarding security issues of intrusion management, information assurance and consults users on network and telecommunications security. Must be knowledgeable of Industry's position related to this subject matter and Government regulations, manuals, technical order, standards, and industry publications. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Three to ten (3-9) years of progressive experience in implementing and installing security and access requirements for LANs and telecommunication environments. The individual will have the ability to work on Telephony Management platforms consisting of telephone switches, server hardware (Oracle Database), appliance sensors, and software applications as they relate to telecommunication firewalls. Individual will perform site surveys, installations, upgrades, and testing of operating systems pertaining to the integration of telephone switching systems and firewall technologies. Individual should be knowledgeable on T-1 circuits, Analog and Digital technologies, and wiring techniques. Experience with SecureLogix products is desirable. he individual must be available to travel to CONUS and Overseas DoD site locations. Physical requirements are necessary to perform task; such as lifting (15-75lbs) (2-man lift when appropriate) and installing hardware into appropriate racks/cabinets, extensive walking within, to and from, base facilities/buildings, climbing ladders or stairs to perform ceiling inspections, site surveys, or installations. Repetitive activities will include, but not limited to bending, kneeling, squatting, and twisting to perform network equipment installation efforts. Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or related field. Combinations of technical experience, certifications, and education will be evaluated for equivalency.
