RESPONSIBILITIES: Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing complex computer systems. Works with the technical team, stakeholders and end users to determine systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system security. Provide integration strategies for the utilized components of the total system. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies. Develops and recommends corrective actions. Leads key projects and provides guidance for technical staff. Evaluate and recommend future technologies and methodologies that will enhance overall performance and integrity. Leverage broad data center design and operations experience to contribute to new engineering tasks. Bring a global view of system administration, data base administration, monitoring, change management, and automation methodologies to technical discussions and reviews assessing new customer requirements and technology insertion. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 15+ years in the IT field with extensive experience in Data Center operations and design, IT infrastructure support, and Disaster Recovery planning. Solid System Architecture, integration, engineering and implementation skills. Depth of experience with large, highly available, global Sun systems to include Sun mail and LDAP. Solaris System Administration, scripting, and server automation skills strongly preferred. Familiarity with Netegrity Siteminder, Micromuse Netcool, and Veritas preferred. Must have strong communication, presentation, and customer relationship skills. Ability to confidently assert and support ideas, options and solutions. Must have experience with requirements generation, definition and documentation. Must be detail-oriented and be a team player. BS in Computer Science or comparable degree.
