RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and maintain Composite related material and process specifications. In this assignment, the engineer is expected to work independently to be able to plan (tasks, schedule, budget), conduct and communicate results of specification changes and / or qualification efforts and testing to establish materials and processing requirements for stable material and processes. Resolve technical concerns, mature emerging technologies and enable implementation of new or modified composite materials and processes into production, evaluate the production system (processes and procedures, documentation, equipment and knowledge base) of suppliers in compliance to specification requirements, as well as capability and stability to support Aerospace production and engineering needs. Composite Materials and processes expertise and experience is expected to be applied to resolve technical concerns, translate contract requirements into work requirements, processes and tasks. Specific assignments may include Material/Processor qualification, process development, equipment qualification for composite fabrication, and Mat'l/Process specification development. These efforts may also include coordination or collaboration with partners in the development or transfer of enabling fabrication technologies. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Criteria are based on the following competencies: Adaptability, Innovation/Creativity, Collaboration/Teaming, Project Management, technical skills & knowledge and Aerospace Process Knowledge. Looking for a strong team leader with good project management skills, communication skills and a 'can do' approach. Understanding of and ability to work with Composite material & processes or related fields is required. Understanding of and ability to work with composite material and production systems is preferred. Knowledge of Aerospace process and materials specifications is preferred.
