RESPONSIBILITIES: This critical position will provide stress and dynamic fatigue life prediction, and failure analysis for a wide variety of gearboxes, geared actuators, and related products. The job has varied and challenging duties that support the entire product cycle from proposal / concept preparation through to production and repair / overhaul phases. REQUIREMENTS: Working in a strong team environment, the successful candidate will be required to apply strong analytical reasoning skills to complex problems and to provide critical input to challenging design to cost and design for manufacture goals. A strong knowledge of computer based analysis tools is required, especially proficiency in finite element modeling and related solvers such as Patran and Nastran. Additionally, the successful candidate should have a working knowledge of complex mechanical system modeling and simulation and have the ability to adapt that knowledge to rolling element bearing analysis and spur, helical, and spiral gear analysis. A working familiarity with AGMA and Gleason standards is desirable. This position will also carry the responsibility for recommendation of new and improved tools / software to keep the company current on technology advances in the mechanical element analysis field.
