RESPONSIBILITIES: Works independently. Plans research and development programs and exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives. Ensures application of best practices and identifies the need for enhanced processes, methods, and tools. Translates contract requirements into work requirements, processes, and tasks. Plans, schedules, and leads others to produce technical work responsive to customer needs within allocated budgets. Contacts customers, teaming partners, subcontractors, and suppliers to exchange technical data and to discuss project performance. Manages customer and supplier relationships and participates in development of fundamental approaches to projects and of requirements for implementation. Apply knowledge of engineering principles and techniques; company policies, processes and procedures; and regulatory requirements in order to design and develop wire harnesses and connectors to support required installations. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Apply knowledge of engineering principles and techniques to the design and development of electrical systems. Knowledge of mechanical design for structural development and interface of panels and rack structure; the design, installation, and integration of electrical/ electronic subsystems; equipment and components installation; and electrical interconnections, heat transfer, shock, vibration, and fabrication/manufacturing methods. Ability to design and develop electronics packaging, wire harness fabrication, and rack assemblies to support flight computers. Knowledge of thermal analysis, stress analysis, material selection, and packaging methods. Knowledge of drafting and dimensioning fundamentals. Knowledge of three dimensional CAD software for development of details, assemblies, and installation drawings. Requires educational credentials meeting the Aerospace classification standards for engineers.
