RESPONSIBILITIES: Negotiates with project participants and stakeholders to establish project deliverable definition, task scope, task sequence and schedule commitments in order to maximize efficiency of project plan. Works with higher level project managers to develop overall project plan consistent with project objectives as defined by the project owner and key stakeholders. Ensures that all project control systems, within the scope of the project, are in place and integrates project data for decision makers. Consolidates independently generated project data by interfacing with functional specialist or team specialist on cross-functional teams, for an understanding of project impact items (such as: trade-offs among cost, schedule, quality and risk). Develops work-around plans, schedules recovery plans, alternative options or scenarios, resource capacity plans, or risk mitigation plans, or re-baselines the project, as required. Provides recommendations to decision makers. Identifies and tracks project risks using project management tools and techniques and develops alternative plans for project completion. Acts as primary customer contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives. Develops a project plan and deliverables that meet identified requirements by application of or in accordance with accepted Project Management principles (Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). will be assigned one or more projects. Works to improve project management. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Extensive and specialized knowledge of Project Management theory, concepts and principles (e.g. theory of constraints, critical path methodology, project risk management, triple constraints, project scope management, project management lifecycle etc.) Contained in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK[R] Guide). Project Schedule & Resource Mgmt: Extensive, specialized ability to create comprehensive multi-tiered project schedules for significant Business Unit projects. Extensive, specialized ability to identify time frames for key project milestones, ensure alignment of sub tier activities for overall project visibility, tracking and completion, direct and manage more complex project schedules requiring interfacing with multi regional or international activities, independently identify project resource requirements, and integrate and direct multi project elements into a single collective overall project plan. Extensive, specialized ability to collaborate with others on the very complex projects assigned. Negotiation: Explores all parties' needs, concerns, and initial positions as they relate to large/complex negotiations. Builds common ground by highlighting areas of agreement and working through areas of disagreement. Manages the interpersonal process to stay focused on the task; constructively addresses emotions and conflict. Engages in mutual problem solving by brainstorming alternative positions or approaches.
