RESPONSIBILITIES: Evaluate and recommend new telecommunications related applications, products and services as they relate to near term strategic projects. Support department projects that include new site construction, speech technology applications, VoIP, video and audio teleconferencing, voicemail applications, business recovery, traffic analysis, interactive voice response, telemanagement systems, unified messaging, the integration of voice, video and data networks as well as other emerging technologies. May also be called up to support new construction and facilities projects. Requirements gathering and definition. Research solutions. Create RFI or SOW as needed. Assist with evaluating the solutions and RFI responses. Assist or lead implementation on projects, including creation of Project Schedules, budget preparation and resource acquisition. interface with vendors and service providers. As necessary, provide support for the evaluation and implementation of requests for adds, moves and changes to voice services in El Segundo as well as same Regional Offices. Provide vendor interface on new services or changes to existing telco provider services. Evaluate and implement requests for adds, moves and changes to voice services in El Segundo and at some Aerospace Regional Office locations. Interface with customers on requirements and telecommunications vendors on implementing new services or changes to existing services. Assist in restoration of services in emergencies or repair REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Project Management or Proposal Development/Evaluation experience required. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Telecommunications background required with a minimum of 5 years experience. Analytical ability to study data, identify trends, determine alternate solutions and facilitate implementation. Must possess sound judgment and problem solving skills with attention to detail. Must be able to effectively communicate with colleagues, management, vendors and customers in a fast paced, multi-discipline environment. Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communications required. A strong customer focus and the ability to work effectively in a team environment is a critical requirement. Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments concurrently is required. Knowledge of voice technology that includes Centrex service, PBX systems, VoIP, VTC & audio Conferencing, voice messaging (Avaya's Octel & Modular Messaging), wireless and other provisioned services, as well as server based Telemanagement applications is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Familiarity with Access preferred. Support for Wireless Provisioned services, including but not limited to Blackberry, paging, and cellular. Provide analysis for wireless services, monitor expenses, track usage, and provide analysis associated with rate plan changes.
