Description: Chipton-Ross is seeking a Toxicologist for an opening in Plainsboro, NJ.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Safety Toxicologist (Risk Assessment) Working for the Toxicology and Scientific Services Group of the Client's Corporate Compliance Division you will be responsible for providing expert knowledge and scientific support to both internal and external clients on the inherent safety of our flavour and fragrance ingredients, finished compounds and research and development activities. The position is based in the US at our Princeton site and reports directly to our Senior Toxicologist in North America. This is a graduate level entry position with considerable scope to carve out a niche in the field of product safety assessment of flavour and fragrance ingredients. Job Responsibility The position involves (but is not limited to): o Providing product safety/toxicological support to core US clients o Acting as an expert technical resource to the Client's Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs group (Fragrance/Flavor Compliance, REACH and Chemical Notification Teams) o Conducting environmental and/or human health risk assessments for chemical compounds o Undertaking critical review of new assessment methodologies, emerging science and regulatory guidelines and the potential implications they may have for the business o Liaising with clients, regulators and external experts to further the safety program(s) of our flavour and fragrance ingredients (includes participation on industry association committees and task

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
o At minimum a general understanding of risk assessment procedures, safety testing methodologies, current chemical control legislation, and hazard classification. US and/or International regulatory experience considered a plus. o Strong problem solving and communication skills o Ability to run long-term scientific projects whilst also balancing short-term business tasks/requests o Able to work independently, in a pro-active way, in a multi-cultural environment o Must be capable of taking the lead in developing solutions and exercising independent judgment and evaluation.
o Advanced degree (Masters of Science or Ph.D) in toxicology or a suitably related field (expertise in either reproductive, genetic or environmental toxicology and/or risk assessment considered a plus)
