Description: Chipton-Ross is seeking a Test Project Engineer in Mason, OH.

Currently looking for an experienced Project Engineer with a broad range of experience to join our Test Engineering team. As a member of this team, you will manage and direct design engineers, test engineers, and technicians to develop state-of-the-art systems to test Spacecraft, Launch Vehicle, and Infrared Imaging products. This will entail managing schedules, Budgets and work assignments as needed to support major development efforts. This candidate will be required to manage several large complex projects simultaneously.

This candidate must understand, generate, and optimize the requirements for production testing. Experience with the development and maintenance of LabVIEW code will be crucial in this position. Extensive knowledge of instrument control, test and measurement system development as well as test equipment configuration is desirable. Experience in developing Test system architectures is required. Other programming languages that will be useful are C#/C/C++ and NI TestStand.

Essential Responsibilities
• Conceive and develop flexible hardware and software test system Architectures to support a wide variety of new and existing Spacecraft, Launch Vehicle, and Infrared Imaging products.
• Managing multiple complex Development efforts simultaneously.
• Managing the day to day tasking of multiple Design Engineers, Support Engineers and technicians as required to support projects that are assigned.
• Generating and maintaining complex Microsoft Project Schedules and Earned value tracking spreadsheets.
• Managing and reporting accurate Estimates to complete (ETC’s) and Estimates at completion. (EAC’s)
• Supporting proposal efforts as needed
• Recommending staffing levels as needed to support assigned projects
• Develop test requirements, methods, and test solutions from requirements flowed down from design engineering
• Support the ongoing problem resolution and upgrade of current production automated and semi-automated test systems
• Interface closely with hardware design engineering as part of concurrent development to define and implement manufacturing test strategies
• Work with operations and design engineers to identify and implement potential enhancements to existing test and measurement systems
• Initiate and drive the development of test processes and plans and procedures following the Client's test platform
• Execute tests against hardware and software to validate features, functionality and performance
• Document results and work closely with designers and others to analyze and debug issues
• Design, implement and configure test beds supporting validation of Client's products
• Hardware debugging for both analog and digital designs
• Support the production floor during failure investigations.
• Must have strong troubleshooting skills to the electronic component level.

Education/Experience/Licenses etc.:
Qualifications
Minimum of BSEE or BSEET degree plus 5+ years experience in Project management.
• 4+ years experience in test software or test hardware.
• 4+ years directly applicable experience in ATE development, including both hardware and software design.
• Extensive experience in LabVIEW software development and National Instruments products.
• Prior experience in developing and implementing acceptance test procedures, production test plans, and test documentation from design requirements
• Highly analytical mindset with exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Creative problem solving ability allowing you to develop and present unique solutions to problems
• Experience interacting with teams to solve technical issues related to product testing
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including exceptional teamwork skills
• Experience using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, counters, DMMs, and PXI test equipment
• Demonstrated expertise in test methodology and system-level test architecture development
• MS Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint proficiency
• Good technical writing skills

Desired qualifications
• Experienced in developing Test System architectures
• Experienced in manufacturing test in effective and robust measurement techniques, including SPC, test limits, and yield
• 5+ years experience in writing test code in C/C++ and NI TestStand
• Knowledge of the space electronics industry including spacecraft and launch vehicle application
• Knowledge of the infrared imaging industry
• Experience with Circuit design, Schematic entry and Circuit Simulation.
• Experience in managing sub contractors.
• Experience in process development.
• Experience managing multiple complex Technical projects simultaneously. Experience with Altium Board Design Software is a Plus.
