- Chipton-Ross is seeking a CNC Machinist/Operator for an opening in City of Industry (3) and Walnut, CA (1).
Controls operation of single or multiple production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines for the process of manufacturing products
Setups and operates a variety of machine tools such as, milling machines, to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions. Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; determines sequences of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required. May modify numerically controlled programs on numerically controlled (NC) machines. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Typically requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
Must be able to read blue prints, NC programs, understand M and G codes. Must be able to drive forklift. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Must know NC table setups.
Familiar with CNC Gantry machinery. Experience with various materials including aluminum and titanium. Candidates must have Gantry experience, 5 axis, 3 router vertical milling machines, long table setups and/or single router high speed machines such as Haandtmans. (Client manufactures long aluminum extrusions that are 50 to 100 feet long.)
