Chipton-Ross is seeking a FPGA Design/Verification Engineer (2) for an opening in Sunnyvale, CA.
The selected candidate will be responsible for ASIC & FPGA development on R&D program. This engineer with have experience in developing, testing, and integrating digital signal processing (DSP), high speed digital design, high speed communication and system-on-chip (SOC) implemented on FPGA platforms. Experience with COTS based control platforms and embedded processors on FPGA platforms. This person will help develop more affordable ways to automate and develop scripts to improve FPGA development efforts. Cross discipline collaboration with Systems Architects, RF/Analog & Digital Circuit designers and ASIC/FPGA engineers to create leading edge products for future business growth, contributing to complex systems employing high speed networking concepts. The selected candidate will also provide support and technical direction to junior engineers. Overall contribution to design, simulation, verification, integration & test of complex, high speed products.
FPGA & ASIC Design and Verification experience. Language Proficient in VHDL/Verilog for FPGA Development. Developing, testing, and integrating digital signal processing (DSP), high speed digital design, high speed communication and system-on-chip (SOC) implemented on FPGA platforms. FPGA Verification with OVM/UVM, System Verilog programming experience. Basic proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems and in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP). Strong lab integration and test skills.
o Experience with modern verification methodologies, including UVM and/or OVM o Experience in developing FPGAs and/or ASICs for high-reliability applications including space environments o Experience developing with Xilinx Virtex-5QV, Microsemi antifuse (RTSX and/or RTAX) and SoC (RTG4) devices and Xilinx 7-series or newer devices o Experience with Mentor Graphics Modelsim or Questasim, Synopsys Synplify Pro, Xilinx ISE and/or Vivado, Microsemi Libero IDE and/or Libero SoC. o Familiarity with UVM-based functional verification concepts and methodologies, as they apply to design for test. o Experience evaluating IP cores from multiple vendors and performing trade studies to determine optimal solution. o Experience with AMBA architectures, embedded processors, and IP cores o Experienced in writing VHDL for synthesis.
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level.
