Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Technician Level 1 for an opening in Orlando, FL.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This individual will perform spray, brush, or dip application of surface finishes to hardware and test panels. Metal finishing includes, but is not limited to: acid bath dipping, conversion coating, anodizing, powder coating, passivation, application of masking, UV printing. Typical daily work will include racking and lifting hardware in and out of plating baths. Makes tank additions, empties and fills chemical/acid tanks, collects solution samples. Reads and interprets laboratory, engineering, and manufacturing process specifications and plans sequence of operations for finish applications on parts. Takes pH readings and makes pH adjustments. Performs chemical titrations (volumetric analysis). Performs basic algebraic math calculations, percentages, surface area calculations, volumetric and weight conversions, calculations of voltage and amperage requirements. Responsible for keeping plating line chemicals and samples certified per Military specifications. Prepares monthly qualification samples. Operates power transformers and computer controlled ovens & furnaces. Operates grit blaster. Uses a variety of hand tools, power tools, measurement tools, pH meter, micrometer, balances. Responsible for daily startup and shut down of plating line, light maintenance and lab cleanup. The individual is required to be a supportive member of Environmental Safety and Health (ESH) and Quality System policies to provide a safe work place and eliminate conditions and behaviors which may cause work related illnesses and/or injuries while delivering quality product and services on time.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
o Ability to operate a personal computer, including proficiency with Microsoft Word & Excel. o Must be able to use/hold/manipulate small tools and parts with hands, and to operate grit blaster. o Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis using proper lifting techniques. o Must pass the ESH respirator physical and ability to wear safety equipment, including chemical respirator. o Excellent verbal and written communication skills. o Must be a detailed worker, capable of following processes and working independently with minimal supervision.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
AA/BS degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or other equivalent technical degree.
o Experience working with chemicals as a Lab technician, Plating/Chemical process technician, Electronics or Printed Circuit technician.
o Mathematical ability to perform and/or understand the calculations used in assigned areas and ability to read and interpret engineering drawing notes, specifications, and technical data, and perform required finish.
o Familiarity with Mil-Spec plating requirements.
o Experience making signage & associated artwork.
o Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, measurement tools, pH meter, micrometer, balances.
