RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is to support the development of machinery control systems on CVN68 Class Aircraft Carriers. The successful candidate will be assigned a wide array of engineering tasks to support the development and integration of new machinery control systems. These tasks may include: system design development and maintenance, technology upgrades, system technical manual preparation, technical specification development, computer software documentation review, parts identification and qualification, shipboard technical support, system operation and maintenance training for ships force, human-machine interface software development, and system troubleshooting aboard ship.
Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
This position requires a minimum BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program.
Must have 2 Years relevant experience with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters.
Specific experience with shipboard machinery control systems, programmable logic controller operation and programming is required; and IEEE 12207 computer software development processes is preferred.
Significant interaction with Navy personnel, outside contractors, trades, government representatives, and other shipyards is necessary; therefore, good customer relations skills and effective oral/written communications are essential.

EDUCATION:
This position requires a minimum BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program.
