Chipton-Ross is seeking a Capillary Electrophoresis R&D Scientist for an opening in South San Francisco, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The capillary electrophoresis R&D group has an open position for a scientist to work on system integration and development of CE instrument systems and consumables for genetic analysis. The day-to-day duties of this position involve cross functional interaction with engineers, software developers, scientists, and other disciplines so candidates must have good verbal as well as written communication skills. It is expected that a successful candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, demonstrates attention to detail, is action oriented, and a team player.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of either developing or being a 'power user' of complex scientific instruments, and be comfortable working on prototype systems in the early stages of development. In addition, applicants should have some experience in developing and executing test plans, and writing plans, reports, and other documentation. Experience with general molecular biology techniques and in particular Sanger sequencing or fragment analysis via capillary electrophoresis is a plus. Experience in operation and maintenance of Applied Biosystems capillary electrophoresis instruments and applications a plus. Impeccable attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.

EDUCATION:
Bachelors/PhD/Masters in molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, chemical engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
