Chipton-Ross is seeking a Lean Material Handler (Water Spider) for an opening in San Jose, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Lean Material Handler will be responsible for ensuring the production team has the material and tools they need to keep the line moving. This role reports directly into the manufacturing manager. This position will be the 'water spider' for the manufacturing floor. They will be responsible for walking a route to identify the material needs of each production cell and then physically moving the material to the floor via material movement transactions. The Lean Material Handler will also participate in daily stand-up meetings and daily 5S walks. The position will interact with the assemblers and technicians of several production lines on a daily basis and will need to flex their strong communication skills. The Lean Material Handler is responsible for training coworkers when appropriate and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 1-3 years experience in material handling experience is required. The Lean Material Handler will have a strong understanding of lean material principles including 5S, Gemba, and Kanban. The candidate will be required explain how they have interacted with lean principles in their previous position. Experience with cycle count and inventory management is required. Must be able to communicate information with others and read/speak/write English. Requires the employee to follow written procedures (SOP's) with attention to detail and a focus on quality. Must be familiar with PC operations and have a basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows 7 operating system. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and actively stand, sit, walk, and work with hands. Important soft skills include communication, problem solving, and a customer-oriented mindset. Experience in a clean room environment or handling clean parts is preferred. Proficiency with basic assembly tools and principles is preferred. Knowledge using SAP is a strong plus.
