- Chipton-Ross is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III for an opening in Carlsbad, CA.
Understand and apply technical knowledge, theory and best practice as related to machine design, product development, component, subsystem design, and purchased part selection. Assigned duties may include design and development of specific systems, modules, mechanisms or components to meet design requirements. Operate hand and basic machine tools to assist in fabrication, testing, and troubleshooting of prototype hardware and assemblies. Contribute as an individual as well as a part of a broader design team including electrical, software, and bio engineering members.
5+ years' experience in product development, machine design, or related experience. Enjoys working on a cross-functional team. 3D design software: Solidwork. Experience with building Bills of Materials and creating detailed part drawings. MS Office tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical and organizational skills. Experience in conceptualizing innovative and creative designs using strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Sheet metal, machined, cast or molded part design. Demonstrated ability for technical proficiency, creativity, problem solving skills, communication and task management. Experience with design of injection molded plastic parts, new product introduction or machine design. Hands-on experience building and testing prototypes Can-do, results driven, positive behaviors with an inquisitive nature
