RESPONSIBILITIES:
Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking a Customization Specialist to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in McLean, VA. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Department of State (DOS) Consular Systems Modernization (CSM) Program, for the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA). This initiative is intended to modernize and consolidate the operational environment under a common technology framework in order to better support the services provided to CA's customers. The customization specialist will work with the predictive analytics project team to adapt data analytics products to meet functional requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Assume responsibilities to conduct fit-gap analysis for COTS products and determine the level and degree to which functional requirements are supported out-of-the-box.
Analyze and document the alternate approaches to meet functional requirements that are not met by COTS using open-source products, adaptation of COTS and customization.
Perform tasks to develop and integrate functionality by adapting products to meet requirements with minimum customization.
Provide resolutions to issues related to COTS and open-source product implementation and associated functionality supporting data science and data analytics platform.
Assume the role of customization specialist and be the Point-of-Contact (PoC) addressing customization and/or adaptation of COTS and open-source products.
Work closely with UX lead architect and data scientists to understand and implement product configuration and customization to successfully meet requirements.
Be the thought leader to research and propose innovative techniques to enable a variety of COTS, open-source, and custom tools to be used for data exploration and analytics.
Prefer local candidates for Face to Face Interviews.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and at least three (3) years' relevant experience.
At least 1 year of experience in COTS or open-source customization and extension, adapting products to meet requirements with minimum custom development.
At least 1 year of development experience with data visualization and/or data analytics tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience to enable data scientists to efficiently and effectively develop algorithms using specialized open-source tools such as Zeppelin, Jupyter, RShiny and big data tools.
Design and hands-on experience in development/customization of data exploration and visualization tools such as Tableau as well as others based on Python and R to create visual analytics dashboards to share across enterprise.
Experience in cloud-based environments implementing data analytic technologies and hybrid cloud environments (on-premises and public clouds) using iPaaS-based solutions.
Experience working in Agile teams under a large-scale Agile-based framework, preferably SAFe.
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing to effectively interact with multiple teams both internal and external.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field is required.
