Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking a UX Business Process Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in McLean, VA. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Department of State (DOS) Consular Systems Modernization (CSM) Program, for the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA). This initiative is intended to modernize and consolidate the operational environment under a common technology framework in order to better support the services provided to CA's customers. UX Business Process Analyst will be responsible for describing the overall user experience, defining the workflow models and working with the architecture and sprint teams to ensure an effective and high quality user experience.
Roles and Responsibilities:
o Assist in applying common best practices for the industry to the customer using a knowledge base to create conceptual business models and to identify relevant issues and considerations in selecting application software packages.
o Assess the operational and functional baseline of an organization and its organizational components, and help to define the direction and strategy for an engagement while ensuring the organizational needs are being addressed.
o Analyze business and technical processes to formulate and develop new and modified business information processing systems, such as production and inventory control systems, financial tracking systems, marketing and human resources systems.
o Represent the business unit to define requirements and business cases for the technology developments.
o Coordinate with business and technology teams, ascertaining system requirements, such as program functions, output requirements, input data acquisition, and system techniques and controls.
o Work with multiple teams on various projects within an Agile environment.
o Work directly with customers and project teams to gather requirements through user research, stakeholder interviews, workshops, etc.
o Develop/create applicable user flows, journey maps, page flows, wireframes, and other artifacts as needed.
o Translate research findings into design recommendations to quickly improve product designs early in the design cycle.
o Leverage UX methodologies for uncovering user needs and identifying opportunities for improvement.
o Actively engage stakeholders through group facilitation and workshops.
o Understand and align the needs of our stakeholders, clients, and users.
o Provide thought leadership towards emerging UX best practices, trends, and technologies.

Bachelor's degree in a related field (computer science) and at least 8 years' relevant experience.
At least three years of experience working in a collaborative team and directly with developers for implementation of UX designs.
Solid understanding of Accessibility (Section 508 Compliance).
Extensive experience designing web application interfaces in an agile environment.
Knowledge and adoption of UX industry best practices, including user-centered design methodologies.
Familiarity with HTML5 and CSS3 and understanding of web based user interface patterns based on JavaScript, Angular JS, NodeJS, Bootstrap.
Strong visual and interaction design proficiency, as well as a superior understanding of current front-end coding practices.
Strong design fundamentals including information design, interaction design, visual design, industry UX/UI standards across platforms, and UX best practices.
Experience in user research, user interface design, information architecture, usability testing, human factors, and other related disciplines.
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing to effectively interact with multiple teams both internal and external.
Fluency in mobile platforms, including design guidelines for native applications.
Demonstrated proficiency with industry standard design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, et. al).
Proficient use of common rapid prototyping tools (e.g., Axure Pro, Balsamiq, et. al).
Awareness of new trends in interactive design, development, and digital platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced experience working with Bootstrap, JavaScript, Angular, React, NodeJS, responsive web design and development, and native mobile development.
Advanced knowledge of usability, accessibility (Section 508 Compliance), Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and other standard best practices.
Experience in cloud based environments including deploying solutions on public/hybrid clouds.
Experience with IBM Rational Collaborative Lifecycle Management.
Scaled Agile Framework experience; working as a part of a SCRUM Team.
Background in Agile Software Development, specifically software user story development.
Experience using engineering environments and tools that support agile development, and especially SAFe, such as JIRA, Rally, VersionOne, Confluence.
Supports all Agile teams to ensure effective end-to-end capability threads are being implemented.

Bachelor's degree in a related field (computer science) is required.
