Description


RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, lays outs, draws, and revises detailed part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings from basic layouts, established references, and standard data in a field of specialization such as structures, devices, mechanics, electrical, or electronics. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA. Completes details of major layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices. Determines scaling; inserts necessary reference planes, centering and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations, and sectioning; prepares specifications for parts, assemblies, and installations; prepares complete production detail drawings; contributes design modifications to improve quality of product or facilitate manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities will include drafting of electrical cable designs and electrical assemblies for aerospace programs utilizing AutoCAD Electrical. Create preliminary block diagrams, wiring diagrams and detailed assemblies such as cable assemblies, Circuit Breaker assemblies, Relay assemblies etc. Candidate will work with a team to develop work products that are generated in accordance with existing templates, checklists and standards. Work products are peer reviewed for design accuracy and quality. Must have a basic understanding of electrical engineering concepts.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years' additional education and/or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Position requires knowledge of aircraft-type cable assemblies and MIL type wiring and components such as connectors, backshells, shielding techniques, using design direction from Electrical Engineers.
Microsoft computer skills are required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work as a team.
Experience developing drawings to ASME Y14.X standards.
Experience using CPLM or similar configuration management tools.
Knowledge of instrumentation wiring applications.
Knowledge of EMI/EMC effects on electrical cable wiring.
Knowledge of TEMPEST design constraints on electrical cable wiring.


EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.

HOURS:
9/80 workweek
