Chipton-Ross is seeking a Software Engineer – Geospatial for an opening in Arlington, TX.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
A geospatial software engineer is responsible for execution of Client Link’s approach to the design, development, and implementation of training content production and publication processes. Geospatial software engineers help define and manage L3 Link’s development and production processes for geospatial imagery, 3D models, elevation data and simulation terrain, as well as the production of correlated client databases (e.g. OTF, CTDB, IOS, Weather, Radar, etc.). Candidate must be willing to work assignments within agreed to budgets and schedules, and solutions must be consistent with organizational processes.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
A geospatial software engineer should possess strong software engineering skills and demonstrate the ability to work with other groups and organizations within the company. The candidate should have experience with various industry standard approaches to the creation and publication of geospatial content. Candidates should have experience with task planning for large programs and resource/schedule conflict resolution. Candidates should have strong knowledge in distributed processing and operating systems management (Windows and Linux). Candidates should have a mature understanding of the full software product life cycle.
Geospatial software engineers need to be able to diagnose complex problems related to image generation and rendering systems. Analytical skills and the ability to perform root cause analysis are necessary to troubleshoot problems throughout the content development processing chain. Candidates need to have a working knowledge of information technology concepts such as distributed processing, SAN operation, network configurations, and measuring system performance.
• Experience in the acquisition and manipulation of a wide variety of common aerial and satellite imagery, elevation and vector data
• Experience in creating moving and static 3D models, in software such as 3D Studio Max, Maya, or Creator
• Experience with ArcGIS and imagery preparation and processing techniques
• Experience with Visual Studio, C#, GNU C++
• Experience with Web Services development, IIS, and JavaScript
• Experience developing scripts and automating processes
• Development experience on multiple operating system platforms, including Linux and Windows
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Ability to prepare resource, effort, and time estimates for engineering efforts with a high degree of reliability
• Experience with defining and executing business processes

EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other technical field or equivalent education and work experience

WORK HOURS:
9/80, Day Shift
Full-Time
