Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Director of Aircraft Software for an opening in Reno, NV.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will be responsible for leading all activities related to the integrated software in the AS2 supersonic aircraft. He/she will have overall responsibility for the Integrated Functional Capability (IFC) approach to software development, unit testing, and ultimately integrated system testing in our development laboratory and flight testing on the air vehicles.
Management of IFC content, including new capabilities and software fixes to meet program requirements
Coordinate the formal release of the IFC and work with Operations to ensure a smooth release and deployment
Update the hardware/software compatibility matrix
Ensure all products are following an open system architecture design
Oversee validation of testing of new capabilities and ensure the logistics trail has been coordinated with for smooth upgrades

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
15+ years of deep, hands-on experience in software development, software integration and software certification on a Military, Commercial and/or business jet class aircraft
Minimum of 5+ years of demonstrated experience leading technical resources and teams, both internally and externally, as well as both on-site and off-site
In-depth and current knowledge of Part 25 regulatory requirements
Experience and expertise in the development of commercial and/or high-end business jets strongly desired
Must be able to demonstrate a clear understanding, knowledge and ability to define requirements, generate architecture and achieve compliance
Strong customer focus with experience in a global environment working with customers and suppliers
Strong/proven problem-solving skills across multi-disciplinary skill sets
Strategic leader with very strong decision making and communication skills
Ability to develop high levels of credibility and forge solid professional relationships with subordinates, peers, and management
Ability to drive accountability appropriately within the organization
Experience with Microsoft Office software

EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or area highly relevant to the position, Master’s or Ph.D. in a technical specialty strongly preferred

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
