- Chipton-Ross is seeking an Aerodynamics CFD Engineer for an opening in Reno, NV.
The Aerodynamics CFD Engineer will contribute to the aerodynamic analysis and design of the Client supersonic business jet to meet program and certification requirements. The successful candidate will have a fundamental understanding of aerodynamics and CFD, preferably with experience on supersonic applications.
Perform detailed aerodynamic analysis in areas of aircraft aerodynamic forces, performance, external loads, and handling qualities.
Predict aircraft performance and handling characteristics using classical analytical techniques as well as advanced simulation tools.
Provide guidance in design modifications to the airframe or airframe elements to improve aerodynamic performance.
Generate aerodynamic performance, stability and control and loads database.
Assist in the development of advanced aerodynamic analysis tools.
Provide support for engineering, certification, and flight test departments from concept to product certification.
1-5 years experience in computational fluid dynamics of external and/or internal flows, including validation of results.
Experience in the development of fighter, supersonic, and/or business aircraft.
Familiarity with HPC platforms and NASA CFD codes such as Overflow and Fun3D.
Strong technical, interpersonal, communication, administrative, and presentation skills.
History of working in a collaborative multi-discipline team environment.
Highly self-motivated with a strong bias for action, and excellent problem-solving skills across multi-disciplinary skill sets.
Accredited Bachelor's degree Mechanical or Aerospace engineering, with an advanced degree in a technical specialty involving computational fluid dynamics highly preferred.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
