Chipton-Ross is seeking 2 Structural Analysis Engineer 3's located in Kennedy Space Center, FL

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Defense, Space and Security is seeking a mid-level Stress Analysis Engineer at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Develops, integrates and documents structural requirements to establish the system design. Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product''s environment. Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance. Develops test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied. Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements. Works under general direction.

Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, system modeling and other analysis tools (NASTRAN, PATRAN, Common Structures Workstation and home-grown tools) throughout the product life-cycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
oExperience performing stress analysis using manual hand calculations.
oExperience with Analysis tools Nastran/Patran
oExperience with Finite Element Analysis.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
oDegree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Applied Mechanics, Structural, and Civil are preferred.
oExperience with Human-Rated Space-based systems.
oExperience working with cross-functional teams.
oExperience with design and analysis of high modulus composites is desired.
oExperience with Hypermesh.
oExperience with product data management tools such as EDRS (Engineering Design Release System) and TeamCenter Enterprise (TCE) are a plus.

EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time/First Shift
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Travel Required - As required to site, customer or supplier - Est. at less than 10%

Work is based in Florida for Commercial Crew Activities. Prefer candidates to work out of Kennedy Space Ctr site. Candidates can work remote from other Client sites (Houston or Florida preferred, Huntsville or Philadelphia are secondary preferences) using Client Computing Assets with limited travel to Kennedy Space Center as required for work interface.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
