Chipton-Ross is seeking a Manufacturing Research and Development Engineer 3 for a contract opportunity in San Antonio, TX.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Ability to obtain security clearance is required for this position.
o 5+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
o 1+ years of Manufacturing Research and Development experience in mechanical/structures assembly, materials and processes engineering, and/or manufacturing research and development
o 3+ years of experience with 3D modeling tools
o Project Management Experience
o Experience communicating with customers
o Regular and predictable attendance is a requirement of this request.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Defines requirements and approves tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and/or maintenance of products. Produces specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes. Maintains compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations. Promotes standardization across business activities. Evaluates emerging technologies for potential application to business needs. Develops and qualifies new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements. Integrates new technologies as appropriate. Manages test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements. Conducts analysis to characterize performance or determine reasons for failure of tools, materials, parts or processes. Implements corrective and preventive actions. Designs, develops and qualifies computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements. Uses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements. Incorporates environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research, design and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) labs and office areas.
HARD REQUIREMENTS:
Successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment - OJT or formal classroom training
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Active Security Clearance
o 3D Printing Experience
o Rapid Solution Creation and Deployment
o 2+ years of Technology Implementation experience
o Knowledge of Electrical installation, teardown and troubleshooting
o Knowledge of aircraft mechanical/structural buildup and teardown
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
WORK HOURS:
FULL-TIME/FIRST SHIFT 5:00 AM - 3:00 PM
ADDITIONAL:
This position will require the ability to obtain customer approval for access. Dual citizenship or prior citizenship of any other country may preclude ability to obtain access. A 3rd party background check relating to personal and business finances, residences, employment history, past drug use, prior military service, and criminal behavior will be conducted.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a background check. Must clear prior to start date.
