Chipton-Ross is seeking a Sr Staff Engineer Embedded Software Engineer 3 for a contract opportunity in one of the following locations: Northridge, CA, Linthicum, MD or Tucson, AZ.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 14+ years of relative experience; Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 12+ years of relative experience; PhD + 10 years of relative experience.
o *Active Secret security clearance
o Self-starters and able to efficiently operate in a team environment.
o Experience with one or more Software languages/technologies: C/C++, Java, Python, C#.
o Demonstrated ability to analyze system requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
o Demonstrated experience with open software/system architecture solutions.
o Proven ability to design and code new software, as well as modify existing software to add new features.
o 1 or more years of demonstrated success leading teams through the entire development lifecycle.
o Proven experience presenting complex topics to management and other stakeholders.
o Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
o A year or more of experience working in an Agile team.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Looking for a Sr Staff Engineer Embedded Software Engineer to support our SiAW program who with the desire to learn new technologies to join our innovative teams to help develop, enhance, and maintain software on cutting edge products and systems. Candidates will work on software system efforts for the Software Development Team on the SiAW program. This position will serve on-site at Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL) in one of the following locations: Northridge, CA, Linthicum, MD or Tucson, AZ.

Responsibilities:
A successful candidate will have the qualities and essential functional expertise to:
o Provide technical leadership for a team of software engineers.
o Architect/rearchitect and develop software utilizing C/C++ to modernize and productionize a research codebase.
o Design software-systems, applications, and architectures that implement techniques to support achieving increased modularity, scalability, and reliability, while also maintaining precision, accuracy, and speed to meet performance requirements.
o Ensure industry software engineering best practices and standards are applied and maintained
o Present your ideas to internal and external groups; lead proposal activities; and represent Northrop Grumman at technical conferences and working groups.
o Work closely with Software Leads to define program intent, system capabilities, and output requirements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Experience with software version control tools such as Git.
o Experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems.
o Experience with embedded software such as VxWorks.
o Experience using Atlassian Tool Suite: JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, SonarQube.
o Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a strategic product roadmap, aligning software engineering best practices with business objectives
o Ability to define technical strategy to modernize/productionize research code.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline is required.
School must be accredited.

WORK HOURS:
9/80 workweek. 1st shift. 100% On-Site. This position will serve on-site at one of the following locations: Northridge, CA, Linthicum, MD or Tucson, AZ.

MISCELLANEOUS:

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
