Chipton-Ross is seeking a Mechanical Assembler 2 for a contract opportunity in Hopkinton, MA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o US Citizenship.
o Must be able to read and follow written work instructions, assembly procedures, and prints.
o High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years' experience in mechanical assembly or automotive/equipment repair.
o Ability to manually tighten ¼ inch bolts to 120-inch pounds.
Attention to detail, interacts well with team, problem solving skills.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling passive microwave components using various hand tools in a secured environment. Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on mechanical assemblies such as antennas, filters, frames, and waveguide assemblies. Must be able to lift & carry 50 pounds, sit or stand for 4 hours at a time, work from drawings, work instruction, and routers. Capable of working with various hand tools, measuring parts to +/-.002 for trimming, working under a microscope, and mixing / applying epoxies. Ensure completed assignments are defect free and comply with drawing/work instructions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Computer literate
o Soldering or torch brazing experience
o Strong oral & written communication skills and math skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
o Must be able to lift & carry 50 pounds and sit or stand for 4 hours at a time.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High School Diploma/GED is required.
School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS:
Full-Time 9/80 workweek. 100% On-Site. 7 AM - 4:30 PM.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
