Chipton-Ross is seeking a Equipment & Tool Designer (Level 3) for a contract opportunity in North Charleston, SC.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Troubleshooting/Problem Solving Equipment and Tooling
- Reading and Interpreting Engineering Drawings/Schematics
- Equipment and Tooling Design Concepts
- 3D Modeling (Catia, Enovia, etc.)
- Project and Task Management
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Investigates and develops complex equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aerospace product design and build requirements. Participates in design reviews, collects design requirements, creates and revises drawings and models, researches the application of robotics, automation and new technology to support the build plan. Creates off-load packages, specifications, purchase requests and usage instructions for equipment and tooling. Checks designs for compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements. Develops and documents equipment and tooling inspection and usage instructions, preventative maintenance plans, and user training. Provides technical support for engineering changes and discrepancies by investigating problems and analyzing data to identify solutions. Maintains hardware and software configuration. Assesses and makes recommendations for disposition of equipment and tooling. Duties may include (but are not limited to):
- Respond to, identify root cause, and manage to resolution emergent production events for Equipment and Tooling
- Support daily operations and management of tooling for Composites.
- Contribute to Equipment and Tooling gated design review milestones, to provide expertise on maintenance and reliability.
- Perform minor changes to tool design with Tooling Engineering input.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Accredited education/experience typically acquired
through advanced education (e.g. Associate)
and typically 3 or more years' related work
experience or an equivalent combination of
education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1
years' related work experience, 5 years'
related work experience, etc.).
WORK HOURS
FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT; 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM.Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
