Chipton Ross is seeking a Payroll Analyst for a contract opportunity in King of Prussia, PA.
JOB SUMMARY:
Candidate is an experienced Payroll professional with expertise in processing payroll for employees across multiple states with specific knowledge and expertise of Pennsylvania regulations. This includes working knowledge of Timekeeping systems, preferably Kronos, Unemployment claims, Garnishments. Working experience with biweekly payrolls for 3500+ employees. Responsible for record-keeping of taxable wages, earnings, and deductions and work locations. Experienced in employee data management related to payroll. Uploading timekeeping system files into SAP. Resolve timecard discrepancies, run reports, review and make system edits, as well as both Federal and State W-4 tax withholding changes.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o High School degree is required, but a higher degree is preferred
o Four years of experience in either Payroll, HR or other corporate environment is required.
o Trained and proficient in the principles, practices and standard of Payroll/HR Administration.
o Familiarity with and working knowledge of Payroll/HR processes is required.
o Experience with computerized HRMS systems is required (SuccessFactors will be their new system.)
o Experience and proficiency with SAP are highly preferred.
o Experience and proficiency in multi-state payroll processing is preferred
o Ability and willingness to learn new systems and processes, especially Payroll/HR processes and SAP HR processes is required.
o Data entry experience is required.
o Must be results-oriented and be able to react quickly and effectively to changing situations.
o Strong time management and organizational skills.
o Strong attention to details and accuracy
o Effective written and verbal communication skills
o Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as a part of a diverse team
o Must be able to work with oversight of manager, team lead and timekeeping lead.
o A sense of urgency and a proactive approach to addressing issues is expected.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Payroll Support
o Handle routine entry of routine payroll change requests (Banking, W4, Additional Payments/Deductions)
o Check payroll bank account daily for ACH returns and employee direct deposit information corrections/updates and handle reissue of funds via wire transfer or payroll accordingly
o Handle electronic pay statement and W-2 system password resets and access/registration issues
o Document, update and maintain all payroll processes and procedures
o Investigate/Research/Respond/Track employee payroll inquiries
o Ensure assigned Kronos non-exempt timesheets are entered and verified prior to finalizing payroll
o Track assigned Kronos non-exempt employee approvers and back-up approvers
o Handle uploading non-Kronos time files and verifications for payroll processing
o Assist with Biweekly payroll close and result reviews as assigned
o Back-up for post-payroll processing A/P wire and check support documentation as assigned
o Maintenance of Unemployment HR Contact lists and back-up for Unemployment Compensation Management process
o Handle requests for copies of pay statements and W-2s for Legal Subpoenas, Earnings Verifications for Garnishments and Global Mobility
o Handle wire transfers for missing payments or terminations based on state requirements and maintenance of wires/checks/payroll tracking log
o Maintenance of Payroll Vendor and Site Contact Lists
o Handling Department Daily Mail/cash receipts of any incoming employee repayments
o Train as back-up support for other payroll department responsibilities
o Maintenance of payroll file room including filing, organizing and archiving
o Opportunity to handle more complexed payroll related responsibilities with the proper skill set
Other Support
o Review and completion of Experian Verify employment verifications
o Assist with year-end meeting minutes and checklists updates as assigned
o Schedule and coordinate interdepartmental meetings
o Assist in special projects as required including acquisitions and divestitures
o Must input data into SAP HRMS modules timely and accurately, and understand the impact of this input to other HR processes (such as payroll, benefits, metrics and reporting).
o Requires knowledge of HR policies/procedures, and an understanding of the interrelationship between those policies/procedures and SAP HRMS.
o Must be able to respond timely and effectively to inquiries from all levels of Company personnel.
o Need to prioritize calls and requests.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Accredited High School Diploma or equivalent required, higher education preferred.
WORK HOURS:
First Shift, Full Time
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
