Chipton Ross is seeking a Controller for a contract opportunity in Brentwood, TN.
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to lead and oversee our client's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment with our organizational goals. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in financial management, strong leadership abilities, and hands-on experience with Unanet, leveraging its tools to optimize project accounting, financial reporting, and resource planning.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Proficiency in Unanet software is required, with a strong understanding of its financial and project management capabilities.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial management OR an accounting role.
- Advanced proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Financial Management and Reporting:
- Oversee and prepare accurate financial statements and reports.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes in Unanet.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
2. Unanet Expertise:
- Utilize Unanet to manage project-based accounting, resource planning, and reporting.
- Set up and optimize workflows in Unanet for financial and operational efficiency.
- Train and support team members in using Unanet effectively.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop and oversee budgets, integrating data from Unanet.
- Analyze financial trends and project performance to provide forecasts and actionable insights.
4. Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
- Manage audits, including external and internal reviews.
5. Team Leadership:
- Supervise accounting staff across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Mentor and develop the finance team to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
6. Strategic Contributions:
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align financial strategies with company goals.
- Leverage Unanet reporting tools to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance profitability.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
WORK HOURS:
First Shift, Full Time
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
