Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Mechanical Engineer 2's for a contract opportunity in Newport News, VA
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters- Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Special Requirements:
Experience with carrier engineering technical authority and build authority documents. Understands and applies engineering procedures to manufacturing processes and production methods within a model-based environment. Eagerness and willingness to learn, enjoys working on teams and the ability to embrace change and adapt quickly.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
-Engineering experience within the carrier program is highly preferred.
-Experience as a mechanical engineer is preferred.
-Experience using Team Center, NGP, NX, and SAP is highly preferred, but not required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program is required.
WORK HOURS:
5/40 workweek. 7:30AM to 4PM.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
