Chipton-Ross is seeking a Components Engineer for a hybrid contract opportunity in Dallas, TX.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Prefer candidates with active secret clearance.
Candidate must have the Ability to Obtain Secret Clearance. Active Secret is not required to start.
5+ years of experience in Component Engineering
5+ years of experience with obsolescence mitigation
5+ years of experience with PLM tools (e.g., Windchill, Agile)
5+ years of experience interfacing with component manufacturers and suppliers
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support project execution by resolving issues such as conflicting requirements, material suitability, and coordination challenges
Conduct analysis, inspection, design reviews, testing, and integration to ensure product/component quality
Review design documentation to verify compliance with quality standards, vendor requirements, and internal records
Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods for evaluating component acceptability
Perform detailed part-level obsolescence management: monitor BOMs, schedule and manage fixes, source replacements, and prevent production delays
Collaborate with design engineering and cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with PMPCP (Parts, Materials, and Processes Control Plan)
Present findings and updates to program management and customers
Travel to customer and supplier sites as needed
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
Familiarity with full product lifecycle and electronic system support
Ability to support cross-functional initiatives and lifecycle sustainment activities
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Accredited BS with 6-8 years or MS with 4-6 years of experience
WORK HOURS:
4/10 schedule, 1st shift
HYBEmployment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
