Chipton-Ross is seeking a Software Engineer 3 for a contract opportunity in Schriever AFB, CO.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience.
o Proficiency developing software in object-oriented programming languages such as C, C++, or Java.
o Demonstrated understanding of software development life cycle.
o Experience in agile software development methodologies like Scrum or Kanban. Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
o Strong, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical teams and customer personnel.
o Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs.
o A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Seeking a Software Engineer III to join our team in Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB), Colorado. The qualified applicant will become part of the Specialized Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC) on the Warfighter Simulations and Services (WSS) Agile Release Train (ART). The WSS ART offers opportunities to support the U.S. Missile Defense System through the development of Modeling and Simulation applications used in warfighter training and exercises, concept evaluation, developmental engineering, testing and verification, and assessment.
What You'll Get to Do:
As part of the SWDC program, the WSS team offers opportunities to support the U.S. Missile Defense System through the development of Modeling and Simulation applications used in warfighter training and exercises, concept evaluation, developmental engineering, testing and verification, and assessment. The selected Software Engineer III will support the Missile Defense Space Warning Tool (MDST) project as part of the WSS team. Candidate will design, develop, test, document, and integrate features using C++ and/or Java programming language hosted on a Linux operating system. Primary responsibilities include designing and developing software to model various Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) element capabilities. Additional responsibilities could include interfacing with MDST customers and presenting technical briefings to MDST stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
o Proficient in Java or C++ within a Linux environment
o Experience in Atlassian Tool Suite
o Experience in software development, including analysis, design, code, test and integration.
o Knowledge or experience in several of the following: missile defense domain knowledge, infrared space surveillance, and modeling and simulation development.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline is required.
School must be accredited.

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time 9/80 workweek. 1st shift.
