Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Digital Communications Engineer 3's for a contract opportunity in San Diego, CA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o 12 Years with Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer or related Engineering discipline with specialty in Digital Communications; 10 Years with Masters; 8 Years with PhD.
o Experience in the design and development of digital communications systems including modulation, signal & receiver design, noise processes, detection, equalization, coding, synchronization, and multi-access communications
o Experience in Link budget development, modeling, and testing
o Matlab and Simulink modeling of digital comms systems and algorithms experience
o Hands-on experience in Digital Communications within the last 3 years
o Experience with leading teams through product implementation or demonstration
o Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance is required.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Looking for a Digital Communications Engineer to support our Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) department. As a member of the SEIT department you'll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside other engineers with a wide array of technical skills to make our technologies a reality. Our Advanced Digital Engineering group creates the next generation of communications and signal processing systems and will take ideas from concept to working systems aboard the world's most advanced platforms. We bring design to life in our San Diego labs and have on-site advanced manufacturing just minutes from the beach Southern California is famous for. Responsibilities:
o Responsible for research, design, and development for digital designs associated with multi-function software defined radios, as well as automated test equipment
o Work with evaluation boards to test proposed designs
o Support the implementation of digital FPGA hardware architecture and algorithms
o Collaborate with Systems Engineering to ensure firmware design meets system level requirements
o Review designs and analysis
o Proven ability to drive complex technical problems to closure
o Proven ability to lead product delivery
o May lead a team of technical engineers

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Optimization of Matlab or Simulink code generated HDL and porting to FPGAs or ASICs.
o Open air and/or flight testing of advanced communication systems.
o Active/Current DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI.
o Experience with Military Waveforms.
o Waveform Algorithm Design and Decomposition.
o Waveform ASIC Development.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer or related Engineering discipline with specialty in Digital Communications is required.
School must be accredited.

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time 9/80 workweek. 1st shift. On-site.

ADDITIONAL:
