Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking an ASL Interpreter for a contract opportunity in Orlando, FL.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
National certification as an ASL Interpreter (e.g., NIC, CI, or CT)
2+ years of experience as an ASL Interpreter in an industrial, machine shop, or manufacturing setting
Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English
Ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy environment with exposure to machinery and equipment
Strong attention to detail and ability to concentrate for extended periods
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work a 10-hour day, 4 days per week, with occasional overtime

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide accurate and timely ASL interpretation for deaf and hard-of-hearing employees in a machine shop environment
Facilitate communication between employees, supervisors, and other stakeholders
Interpret meetings, training sessions, and other work-related activities
Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of company policies, procedures, and safety protocols
Collaborate with others to ensure seamless communication
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and standards

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and safety protocols
Certification in specialized areas such as OSHA or industrial safety

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Accredited High School Diploma or Equivalent (Bachelor’s degree not required)

WORK HOURS:
4/10 work schedule
1st Shift

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
