Chipton-Ross is seeking a Quality Engineer for a contract opportunity in Syracuse, NY.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience
Quality Engineering experience related to electro-mechanical assembly operations
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, build instructions, and process procedures
Experience developing inspection processes and determining product compliance
Experience performing Root Cause Analysis and identifying corrective actions using structured methods (e.g., DUO, Fault Tree Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, DOE)
Experience performing audits and participating in third-party/customer audits
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Apply quality principles across design, production control, product evaluation, and R&D
Perform technical evaluations of product requirements, specifications, and procedures
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customers on quality issues
Engage in product failure investigations and corrective/preventive actions
Ensure corrective measures meet reliability standards and compliance requirements
Develop strategies to improve internal and supplier performance
Design and analyze inspection/testing processes and perform statistical analysis
Participate in supplier selection and certification programs
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience with DoD contracts
IPC 610/620 and J-STD-001 certification
Experience interfacing with government customer representatives
AS9102 FAI experience
Strong communication skills and ISO/AS9100 knowledge
Ability to work with military customers and cross-functional teams
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education
WORK HOURS:
4/10 work schedule
1st ShiftEmployment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
