Chipton-Ross is seeking an Engineering Technical Writer & Editor 3 for a contract/hybrid opportunity in Palmdale, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline plus 15 years of relevant technical experience.
o Bachelor's degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering and at least 15 years of professional experience.
o Strong writing skills and ability to work collaboratively to support and/or lead new growth efforts to improve instructional product processes.
o Experience with interpreting technical data from multiple sources and then using it to create accurate and high-quality instructional products.
o Experience with using Microsoft Office Suite, Learning Content Management Systems, Learning Management Systems, or other related software suites.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
A qualified Mechanical Engineer with extensive understanding of the production Material Review Board (MRB) process as it relates to compliance with ISO-9100/AS9100D and Department of Defense (DoD) requirements. The selected candidate will generate a formal Liaison Engineering MRB test to effectively evaluate the knowledge and understanding of the Liaison Engineer. In addition, work will be focused on establishing requirements for the test, the frequency of the assessment, the training material, and methods for ensuring the test is objectively conducted.
Responsibilities:
o Establish a comprehensive engineering test to be administered to current and future Material Review Board engineers.
o Establish an electronic form with clear pass/fail criteria and pre-requisites to take the exam.
o Generate learning/training content that can be used to study for the exam.
o Interpret technical available resources to include engineering documents and manuals for applicability in creating new training/learning lessons.
o Review existing courseware for continued technical accuracy and instructional relevance as internal company operating practices and source data is updated periodically.
o Provide technical directions to the Engineering Department leadership.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Bachelor's degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering plus 20 years of professional experience.
o Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
o Formal Instructor Certification.
o Experience in courseware development.
o Experience with using Microsoft Office Suite, Learning Content Management Systems, Learning Management Systems, or other related software suites.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline is required.
School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS:
5/40 workweek. Hybrid position. 8 AM - 5 PM.
HYBEmployment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
