Chipton-Ross is seeking a Software Engineer-Developer 3 for a contract opportunity in Huntsville, AL.

100% onsite.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Active Secret Security Clearance is required for this position.
Experience using analytical, collaboration, communication and organizational skills.
Regular and predictable attendance is required.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) National Team Program is seeking motivated and talented C2BMC Systems Software Engineers to join the team to support the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS).

The Client supports the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) mission to develop and deploy a layered Missile Defense System to defend the United States, its deployed forces, allies, and friends from missile attacks in all phases of flight. Be a part of our passionate and highly-motivated team who are excited to be on the forefront of defense of our nation.

o Work with other industry partners as a key contributor to the design and development of Java-based mathematical algorithms in support of the C2BMC.
o Support full software development lifecycle including generating design artifacts, implementing software changes, supporting design and code reviews, software testing, and resolution of issues found during testing.
o Actively participate in agile planning and execution using established processes.
o Software Requirements and architecture development in support of MDS systems.
o Develop, select, tailor and deploy integration and test processes, tools and metrics.
o Execute and document integration and test activities and events.

This position may require the ability to obtain access to an MDA facility. Access to the facility requires a background investigation by U.S. government authorities.
This position requires candidate acceptance by the industry partner resource control board.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Experience working as part of an Agile team.
o Familiarity with Java J2EE or Java Spring.
o Knowledge of server-side development and message passing.
o Experience developing enterprise applications.
o Good working knowledge of MS Office products.
o Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasking.
o Use of common software development and management tools such as git, Nexus, JIRA, Confluence, Maven, and Eclipse.
o Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and UML diagrams.
o Experienced in the full life-cycle development of complex mathematical algorithms (such as tracking, correlation, guidance, battle management, and radar management) for Java-based military applications.
o Ability to implement MATLAB based algorithms into Java-based software.
o Understanding of software development principles including OOP, design patterns, and testing/debugging techniques.
o Security+ or equivalent highly desired.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, computer engineering, or computer science.

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time/First Shift
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

ADDITIONAL:
Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs.
Possible OT.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a background check. Must clear prior to start date.
