Chipton-Ross is seeking a Workstation Support Technician for a contract opportunity in Topeka, KS.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
2+ years of experience in a workstation support or similar technical support role
Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues in a Windows environment
Strong knowledge of operating systems, productivity software, and office applications
Familiarity with DNS, Active Directory, and VPN
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Customer-oriented with strong interpersonal skills
Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and reaching
Valid state-issued driver’s license (required for driving Evergy vehicle)
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software components
Provide technical support to end-users via in-person, remote, email, and phone
Diagnose and resolve technical issues ranging from basic to complex
Set up new workstations, user accounts, and applications
Troubleshoot network connectivity and printer issues
Maintain accurate hardware inventory and ticket tracking records
Educate users on basic troubleshooting and best practices
Contribute to documentation and guides for technical procedures
Support AV systems, ruggedized laptops, virus kiosks, and other equipment as needed
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician)
Prior customer service experience (in-person and phone-based)
Experience with audio-visual systems and mobile workstation support
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Accredited High School Diploma or Equivalent
WORK HOURS:
5/40 work schedule
Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM CST
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
