Chipton-Ross is seeking a Tooling Fabricator for a contract opportunity in Pinellas Park, FL.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Tool and Die Maker, you will be responsible for using a range of materials, including metals, fiberglass, thermal plastics, and other fabrication materials, to create and maintain both soft and hard tooling for manufacturing processes.
Repairs and fabricates dies and metal tools for our manufacturing facility.
In this role, you will be required to interpret designs, cut and shape tools and dies, and assemble the completed parts. Read and interpret blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings. Visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances.
Design jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of tools.
Measuring and marking metal stock for machining.
Setting up and operating machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines.
Cutting and shaping blocks to specified dimensions.
Filling, grinding, and shimming metals to ensure a smooth finish.
Fitting and assembling tools and die parts.
Inspecting finished dies and form tools for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities.
In-depth knowledge of machine tools and their uses.
Excellent attention to detail.
Advanced troubleshooting skills.
Sets up and runs CNC machining centers.
Apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
Highly motivated team player.
Innovative problem solver.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Accredited High School Diploma or GED.

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
