Chipton-Ross is seeking a Material Coordinator for a contract opportunity in San Antonio, TX.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
• Able to use warehouse equipment
• Requires rotating shift support
• Requires 2-3 years stockroom/crib procedures experience for satisfactory performance
• Requires Computer experience and competency.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
•2-3 years of experience working in a computer based inventory management system or warehouse management system.
• Regular and predictable attendance is a requirement of this request.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The Material Coordinator coordinates and expedites flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisors' priorities. In this job, the Material Coordinator reviews production schedules and confers with department supervisors to determine material required or overdue and to locate material, requisitions material and establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material; arranges for in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules, and with department supervisors for repair and assembly of material and its transportation to various departments, and examines material delivered to production departments to verify if type specified. This Worker may monitor and control movement of material and parts along conveyor system, using remote-control panel board, compute amount of material needed for specific job orders, applying knowledge of product and manufacturing processes and using adding machine; compile report of quantity and type of material on hand, move or transport material from one department to another, using hand or industrial truck; may compile perpetual production records in order to locate material in process of production, using manual or computerized system, and maintain employee records.
Duties may include (but are not limited to):
• To process, verify, route, and appropriately store, order, deliver, track and maintain various supplies and materials in accordance with prescribed storage and delivery methods per Company and customer requirements.
• Performs tasks such as shipping, receiving, inspecting, driving, using material handling equipment, computer operation, etc.
• Able to read and interpret work orders, requisition part lists, specifications, shipping and receiving documents, etc.
• Ability to document and maintain material requisitions, picking instructions, etc.
• Able to apply basic mathematics to count, add, subtract, inventory parts and supplies, etc.
• Able to set up and operate a variety of hand tools: hammers, crowbars, wire counters, etc.
• Able to fabricate special containers as required for shipment of parts per Company and customer specifications.
• Able to operate company vehicles and other GSE equipment required for delivery and storing of material and supplies.
• Able to operate a terminal or computer to input, retrieve and interpret information regarding ordering, inventory and tracking of stock.
• Able to set up and operate stationary and portable barcode readers, pan stock counting and packing equipment and banding equipment.
• Able to operate overhead cranes, hoists, side loaders, forklifts, tow motors, etc.
• Maintain tools and equipment and work area.
• Able to consolidate parts and assemble into parts kits, hazardous material kits, tooling kits, etc.
• Able to prepare parts for storage according to procedures.
• Ability to stock and issue a variety of parts and crib items including sealers and hazardous materials.
• Ability to perform rough cutting and non-angular cutting of materials, primarily tubing.
• Ability to ride in picker machinery to high storage bins to store and retrieve parts.
• Verifies materials and merchandise as received against receiving documents: Reports discrepancies and damage.
• Routes materials to prescribed storage location in accordance with prescribed storage procedures.
• Conducts inventory of stored materials and reports deterioration/ damage.
• Removes and issues material from storage and prepares it for shipment.
• Responsible for complying with all rules and regulations concerning health and safety, tool control, FOD, contracts, facilities, housekeeping, inventory control and other pertinent coverage’s.
• Reviews and analyzes production scheduling requirements to determine products, materials, and actions necessary to ensure the availability of sufficient materials and hardware to meet schedules.
• Identifies, investigates, analyzes and determines best solutions and coordinates the resolution of problems to ensure adherence to quality standards, schedules and budgets for material costs.
• At times may perform in-depth analysis of complex problems related to material requirement, inventories, schedules and configuration control.
• Performs other duties as directed by supervision and management for the benefit of the company, program, and employee(s).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• The candidate must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
• Exposure to noise, working on elevated platforms
• Use personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hand, and arms as required.
• Pass visual acuity and color perception tests
• Read, write, and comprehend the English language
• Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous material
• Obtain & maintain training certifications as required to support assignment responsibilities
• Occasional (1 to 3 hrs) finger manipulation
• On occasion, a 2-person lift may be necessary for weights greater than 50 lbs
• Frequent reaching overhead (3 to 6 hrs)
• Frequent walking on flat surfaces
• Frequent standing flat or uneven surfaces
• Frequent balancing on a ladder, steps, or uneven surfaces
• Occasional climbing on 3-12 ft ladders or stands
• Rotation of head/neck, sitting, crawling, squatting, bend/stoop, lying down, and operate foot controls for an extended period of time
• Occasional contact with metals
• Frequent exposure to noise
• Ability to stand and move for long periods of time
• Safety shoes, eye protection
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Minimum level of education required is a High School Diploma or accredited GED.
WORK HOURS:
FULL TIME/VARIABLE SHIFT; rotating shifts position will start out on 1st shift. Candidates must be available and able to work various shifts during the duration of the assignment

**BENEFITS OFFERED:
Additional Pay=$5.09 Health & Welfare Benefit (paid for all straight time hours worked up to 40 hours per week)
VACATION: 2 weeks paid vacation after 1 year of service; 3 weeks paid vacation after 5 years of service; 4 weeks paid vacation after 15 years of service
HOLIDAY PAY: 11 paid holidays per year. New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday, Washington's Birthday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth National Independence Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
ACCRUAL OF SICK LEAVE HOURS: 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked-up to 56 hours of paid sick leave each year.Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
