Chipton-Ross is seeking 2 (two) ASL Interpreters for a contract opportunity in Orlando, FL.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
• National certification as an ASL Interpreter (e.g., NIC, CI, or CT).
• 2+ years of experience as an ASL Interpreter in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Fluency in ASL and English.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy environment with exposure to machinery and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to concentrate for extended periods.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work 4 days/week.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an ASL Interpreter, you will provide interpretation services for our deaf/hard of hearing employee(s) in a machine shop environment. The ideal candidate will be fluent in ASL and have experience working in a fast-paced industrial setting.
Responsibilities:
• Provide accurate and timely ASL interpretation for deaf and hard of hearing employees in the machine shop.
• Facilitate communication between employees, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
• Interpret meetings, training sessions, and other work-related activities.
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the company's policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with others to ensure seamless communication.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and standards.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
• Experience working in a machine shop or similar industrial environment.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and safety protocols.
• Certification in specialized areas, such as OSHA or industrial safety.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The ASL Interpreter will work in a machine shop environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and equipment. The interpreter must be able to navigate the shop floor safely and effectively.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Accredited High School Diploma or GED.
WORK HOURS:
Part-Time
Ability to work a 10-hour day, 4 days/week, with occasional overtimeEmployment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
