Chipton-Ross is seeking a RF Microwave Design Engineer 1 for a contract opportunity in Point Mugu, CA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or similar with 2 years of related experience or 0 years related experience with a Master's Degree.
o Experience with MATLAB or equivalent software tools.
o Experience with RF components and systems.
o Not a teleworking position. Work is performed in a Navy development facility.
o Active or ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance prior to starting.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The qualified candidate will have the opportunity to develop solutions for our customer's most difficult technical challenges. Candidates must be self-motivated systems thinkers that can work as part of an engineering team.
Responsibilities:
o RF systems development.
o Performance analysis.
o Data analysis.
o Support of firmware, software and hardware integration and test.
o Follow supplied USMC operational scenarios, requirements, and architecture framework (DoDAF) for system development.
o Assist the senior systems engineer with the generation and documentation of a new system's architecture and design (power, RF, and functional block diagrams).
o Review system thermal, safety, and reliability analyses.
o Assist the senior system engineers with new system design features to enhance USMC supportability and maintainability of the system.
o Research and make recommendations on COTS components for system development based on system performance requirements, size, weight, and power constraints, etc.
o Support system prototyping at the bench level, in order to technically evaluate potential COTS components for possible use in new systems and to then evaluate subsequent system design performance.
o Run and develop subsystem Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs).
o Support the review of electro-mechanical system drawings.
o Assist with the troubleshooting system failures and performance issues.
o Support the use of key processes, such as the configuration management for system changes after the system baseline is established.
o Support test's evaluation of system performance in the lab. Operate the system and test equipment to evaluate functional and RF performance against requirements.
o Review system design documentation and operational checklists, procedures, user manuals, training materials, and other technical publications for technical accuracy and completeness.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Experience with HFSS software for PCB design.
o Experience with Keysight Advanced Design System Software.
o Experience with digital signal processing.
o Previous experience with Radar waveforms, Electronic Support (ES), and/or Electronic Attack (EA).
o Knowledge of Electronic Warfare principles.
o Familiarity with Agile Development Methodology.
o Familiarity with Atlassian software development and collaboration tool set (Jira and Confluence).
o Experience with Ethernet and TCP/IP.
o Experience with component selection for system development.
o Experience using mechanical and electrical drawings.
o Experience with RF receiver and RF jamming, software defined radios, and encryption systems.
o Experience working with RF test equipment.
o Experience with concurrent hardware and software development.
o Experience with military aircraft avionics and/or stores.
o Familiarity with referenced military standards.
o Familiarity with aircraft safety, supportability, maintainability, and reliability disciplines.
o Experience with AutoCAD electrical.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science is required.
School must be accredited.

WORK HOURS:
9/80 work week. 1st shift.
