Chipton-Ross is seeking a Pipefitting Department Foreman for a contract opening in Sturgeon Bay, WI.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Position Summary
The Pipefitting Foreman oversees and coordinates all pipefitting department activities and schedules and supports heavy manufacturing operations in multiple fabrication shops and on the waterfront. The successful candidate will provide leadership, technical guidance, and accountability to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality completion of new construction and repair projects.
Key Responsibilities
" Lead and supervise pipefitting work on new construction and repair projects.
" Train, mentor, and evaluate employees to promote safe and efficient work practices.
" Manage employee scheduling, timekeeping, and performance reviews.
" Interpret isometric, orthographic, and engineering drawings to determine work sequences and material requirements.
" Coordinate pipe spooling, pipe burning, and fabrication operations using engineering data, CAD programs, and material availability.
" Verify drawings, generate pipe spools, and design alternatives when interferences occur.
" Inspect progress, equipment, and worksites to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
" Partner with purchasing and expeditors to ensure timely delivery of materials and support efficient workflow.
" Track pipe metrics, welds, and shop progress; prepare reports and documentation using Microsoft Office.
" Maintain organized department records for drawings, purchase orders, and fabrication data.
" Foster strong collaboration with other departments and promote a positive company image.
" Ensure compliance with Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety (QEHS) policies and company standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities
" Directly supervise 10-20 employees.
" Interview, hire, and onboard new team members.
" Plan, assign, and monitor daily work activities.
" Conduct evaluations, recognize performance, and administer corrective actions as needed.
" Mentor employees and model leadership aligned with the mission, vision, and values of Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding.

" Prior shipyard or heavy manufacturing experience.
" 3+ years of management experience or equivalent education.
" Pipefitting apprenticeship or technical training background.
" Journeyman or equivalent certification.
" Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Time & Attendance systems.
" Strong math and analytical skills.
" Familiarity with ABS, USCG, NEC, and IEEE 45 standards.
" Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionalism and a positive attitude.

HSGED
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
