Chipton-Ross is seeking 2 Solderers - Electronic Assembler for a direct opportunity in Hawthorne, CA.
Summary
Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of electronic and electro-mechanical subassembly and assembly operations of a semi-skilled nature to build up and assemble simple units such as power supplies, modules, chassis drawers, cable harnesses, PC boards, electronic systems and subassemblies. Solders and de-solders through-hole and surface mount technology (SMT) components. Installs and/or removes discrete components such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, inductors, etc., on to printed circuit assemblies (PCA’s), panels using both traditional soldering iron and or hot air techniques.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Perform a wide variety of assembly operations: assemble substrates, Solder different assemblies be able to inspect and do basic testing for continuity.
* Determine method and sequence of assembly following the process/procedures/layouts provided
* Identify and select components to be integrated into subassembly and assembly units
* Perform rework and other duties as assigned/requested; gives and provides feedback, dependable and seeks opportunity
* Apply acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks while working safely, works on assignments routine in nature, requires instructions only on new assignments. Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills, share expertise with others; listens and requests for clarification
* Identify and resolve problems/issues in a timely manner
* Shows respect to others, keeps emotions in control, work ethically, demonstrates persistence to overcome obstacles while monitoring work for accuracy and quality to meet productivity standards
Requirements:
* Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent, knowledge of basic math; certified hand soldered a plus
* 1- 2 years of previous/related experience and/or training with ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one or small group situation
*Current or past IPC J-STD-001 certification
* Have the ability to learn/train on all phases of process and procedures, complete paperwork, write short correspondence or memos
* Must have eye/hand coordination
* Be able to read and comprehend specifications/drawings/instructions provided, and apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written/oral instructions * Must have basic computer knowledge (mouse, keyboard use)
* Must be able to use small hand tools such as microscope, tweezers, hand tools and other equipment for solder die and hand soldering
* Will occasionally stand/walk/reach with hands and arms/climb or balance/stoop, bend, kneel, crawl or crouch/push or pull/talk; carry or lift up to 10 lbs. Will occasionally need to determine color and depth perception and use peripheral vision. Will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts and have contact with moving mechanical equipment
* Noise level is quiet to low
* Frequently will sit, be required to engage in close vision, able to adjust focus of vision and hear
* Continuously will be required to use hands to handle or feel
Work Schedule
Full-Time 1st Shift, 5/40 Schedule Start time is usually 6:00 AM or 7:00 AM
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
