Chipton-Ross is seeking a Maintenance Technician 2 for a contract opportunity in Ronkonkoma, NY.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

o Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. o Must have at least 2 years of a combination of experience and/or further education. o Must be a US citizen. Communication, problem solving, team player.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

In need of a Maintenance Technician 2 to work at its Ronkonkoma, New York facility. The Ronkonkoma facility supports the Propulsion Systems & Controls (PS&C) business unit of Defense Systems. Job duties Performs repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment. o Maintain facility support equipment (Shed) o Compressor 1 o Compressor 2 o Compressor 3 o Compressor 4 o Duplex o Triplex o N2 Generator o Maintain facility support systems. o Replacing valves/components as needed as a result of system inspections or other finding. o Support capital upgrade projects involving plumbing electrical changes/additions to new and/or existing facility systems. o Support electrical efforts as well as needed. o Maintain inventory and request orders as needed for critical spare components for facility equipment and facility systems. o Maintaining components in an organized storage system. o Support facility vehicle maintenance from an electrical stand point as needed. Knowledge Considerable knowledge of the job. Substantial acquaintance with and understanding of general aspects of the job with a broad understanding of the detailed aspects of the job. Supervision Given and Received Direct supervision and instructions given for routine work and detailed instructions given for new activities or special assignments. General supervision and instructions given for routine work and detailed instructions given for new activities or special assignments. Typical Duties and Tasks Duties & tasks are varied but standardized. Performs some more advanced functions. Resolves routine questions and problems, and refers more complex questions to higher levels. Consequence of Errors Errors may be detected and corrected but may cause moderate loss of time or customer/user dissatisfaction. Contacts Contacts are typically with individuals within own department and occasionally with contacts outside own organization. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information or data requiring some explanation or interpretation.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent is required. School must be accredited. WORK HOURS: Full-Time 9/80 workweek. 1st shift. 100% On-Site. 7:50am-5:00pm.


Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
