Chipton-Ross is seeking a Electromechanical Engineer 4 for a contract opportunity in Newport News, VA.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 9 Years with Bachelors in Science (electrical, mechanical, marine, nuclear or chemical engineering); 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
  • This position requires technical ability to lead the development of design, qualification, installation and improvements for the Machinery Control and Monitoring System hardware.
  • The ideal candidate will possess carrier knowledge, and some level of expertise in power, piping, and machinery design/analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and technical writing skills
  • PPE: Hard hat, steel toes, hearing protection and eye protection. Flashlight
  • POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing.
  • Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.
  • The engineer will lead design studies (e.g., root cause analysis, new design development), identify life-cycle cost reductions, conduct laboratory testing, analyze results, and assist with developing integrated technical positions and recommendations for customer approval.
  • The engineer will resolve problems identified during equipment manufacture, installation, operation, and maintenance.
  • The engineer will assist in developing products and provisioning documentation, and maintain technical manuals and drawings.
  • REQUIRED EDUCATION:

    ABET Engineering degree required. School must be accredited.

    WORK HOURS:

    5/40 workweek. First Shift 7:30AM-4:00 PM


    Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
