Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Mechanical Technician 3/4's for a contract opportunity in Redondo Beach, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Mechanical Technician 3: High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience. Mechanical Technician 4: High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience. o Knowledge and experience with mechanical assembly and operations using at least one of the following: Blueprints, engineering drawings, or written instructions. o Experience using MS office tools and other software. o Demonstrated experience in executing procedures. o Ability to work well in a team environment. o Ability to work under pressure and effectively manage stress. o Ability to obtain a Top Secret and In-Scope SCI clearance access.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Looking for a Mechanical Technician 3/4. This position performs a variety of duties assisting mechanical engineers in the development of mechanical and electromechanical engineering designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, assemblies and components. Drafts detailed drawings for fabrication. Devices, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies. Sets up and tests complete prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions. Analyzes data and recommends modifications to components or test procedure to meet desired specifications. Roles and Responsibilities o Handling delicate flight hardware using proper ESD and contamination control best practice. o Performs mechanical assembly using space flight drawings and process documents. o Performs space flight bonding operations using various adhesives for thermal, electrical, and mechanical connections on complex composite and structural assemblies. o Collaborating with all stakeholders for your task. o Provide feedback to manufacturing engineers and designers on producibility enhancements. Typical Duties include:
o Perform assembly tasks using specific process requirements (bonding, drilling, torquing, etc) to support daily assignments. o Utilizes calibrated tools and shelf-life materials to perform assembly operations. o Work in high bays and cleanrooms. o Ability to work off hours and weekends when needed. o Ability to travel, as necessary o Take ownership of hardware and report hardware status daily to floor supervisor or TC. o Ability to use MS Office Suite of products to communicate with engineering and leadership.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
o Previous experience in mechanical manufacturing or integration and test. o Experience working on space flight hardware. o Active In-Scope SCI clearance access or ability to obtain one. o Experience working on complex composite flight hardware.REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. School must be accredited.
HOURS:
9/80 workweek. 2:30 PM-11PM. Must be willing and able to work second shift. May be asked to work 1st shift for a short period for training purposes. This position will be located at our Space Systems Sector in Redondo Beach, CA.
MISCELLANEOUS:
