Chipton-Ross is seeking a Tool Fabricator for a contract opportunity in Pinellas Park, FL.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- In-depth knowledge of machine tools and their uses.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills.
- Apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
- Highly motivated team player.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- As a Tool and Die Maker, you will be responsible for using a range of materials, including metals, fiberglass, thermal plastics, and other fabrication materials, to create and maintain both soft and hard tooling for manufacturing processes.
- Repairs and fabricates dies and metal tools for our manufacturing facility.
- In this role, you will be required to interpret designs, cut and shape tools and dies, and assemble the completed parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings.
- Visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances.
- Design jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of tools.
- Measuring and marking metal stock for machining.
- Setting up and operating machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines.
- Cutting and shaping blocks to specified dimensions.
- Filling, grinding, and shimming metals to ensure a smooth finish.
- Fitting and assembling tools and die parts.
- Inspecting finished dies and form tools for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities.
- Sets up and runs CNC machining centers.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Accredited High School Diploma or GED.
WORK HOURS:
- Full-Time
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
