Chipton-Ross is seeking an Electronic Technician 2 for a contract opportunity in Ronkonkoma, NY.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

o Deep knowledge of instrumentation and electrical systems. 120VAC and 24VDC. o Must have ability to operate small hand tools. o Ability to read and interpret drawings and electrical schematics. o Ability to work independently and safely. o Ability to work with electrical / mechanical devices. o Ability to work well with others and be part of the team. o Ability to follow instructions and describe, document work performed. o Knowledge and application on use of voltmeter and oscilloscope. o Ability to operate in a dynamic work environment (i.e. come in early, stay late, offset lunch / break when required). o Must have High School diploma or equivalent.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Looking for an Electronic Technician 2 under close supervision, performs routine technical functions related to the support of development engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronics and Electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models or specialized test equipment Responsibilities o Assembly and integration of electrical and mechanical components to create operational systems employing the following skills. Connection techniques: Wire stripping, connector crimping, soldering, splicing; Wiring installation: Conduit and EMT work, i.e. bending, threading; Circuit testing, wiring verification: DMM use, i.e. Ac & Dc voltage measurement, Resistance measurement o Installation of transducers, Thermocouples, Flowmeters and other test instruments. o Verification of instrumentation functionality and end-to-end checks. o Troubleshooting of instrumentation and controls/channels. o Ability to wire to a schematic and ability to verify a circuit using a schematic. o Familiarity with Component installation. o Mounting enclosures. o Run conduit/EMT to and from enclosures. o Pull cables through conduit. o Mount electrical devices within enclosures.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

o Plumbing installation/fabrication skills: threaded pipe, flared tubing, compression fittings o Knowledge of Soldering techniques and Ethernet cable assembly a plus.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

High School Diploma is required. School must be accredited.

WORK HOURS:

9/80 work schedule. 7:30am - 5pm. Every other Friday off.


Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
