Chipton-Ross is seeking 5 Aviation Maintenance Technicians for a contract opportunity in Jacksonville, FL.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

o 3+ years of Aircraft Mechanic (Experience in either commercial or defense or relevant trade apprenticeship would be considered) o 3+ years experience in reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics and specifications o Ability to close tolerance drill within .003 & Ability to precision measure within .003 o Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Repair overhaul structures for F18- EF Flight Controls. Identify if a fastener is a rivet, blind rivet, screw, hi-lock, bolt or lock bolt. Read and interpret blueprints, process data sheets & maintenance instruction manuals. Demonstrate knowledge of cleaning, corrosion prevention and control, polish or dry wash tasks. Knowledge of common fastener sizes and correct cutting tools for removal and installation processes. Remove and reinstall access panels and fairings. Remove damaged screws without damaging surrounding structure. Ability to safety wire and install cotter pins. Ability to apply aircraft finishes (primer and paint), Alodine, and sealants. Ability to close tolerance drill within .001 & Ability to precision measure within .0005 in metallic and composite structures. Perform structural repairs and modifications on strike fighters, commercial derivative aircraft, and flight control components. Utilize measuring tools such as micrometer, dial caliper, grip gauges, feeler gauge, depth gauge, trimic, and bore gages. Fabricate, locate, trim, drill/ream, and assemble metallic and composite components. Makes major/minor modification to aircraft skins and other structural components. Installs rivets, blind fasteners, hiloks, etc in metallic and composite structures. Ability to properly utilize Assembly Jigs (AJ), Repair Equipment (RE), and other similar fixed tooling to locate parts, trim, shim, final drill, debur, and build components to meet Blueprint requirements. Ensure aircraft technical log book, maintenance documentation, work packages and zonal handovers are completed accurately and within prescribed timescales in conjunction with the program leads and managers. Knowledge/ability to read and comprehend Airworthiness Directives, Technical Directives and Service Bulletins to effective aircraft. Highlight any technical issues, discrepancies or other issues to the program lead and manager. Duties may include (but are not limited to):
o Strive for an efficient work effort in all assigned tasks o Strive for First Time Quality on all assigned work o Follow the guidance and direction from lead, and senior Subject Matter Experts (SME) o Execute all duties while wearing required safety equipment o Complete required company and specific statement of work training requirements o Maintain necessary certifications, licenses and permits as required for assigned work o Demonstrate a safe work ethic o Perform detailed tool inventories daily o Communicate using basic computer systems including but not limited to Microsoft o Office as needed to complete essential job requirements o Contribute positively to our open and honest reporting culture o Report all incidents and occurrences in the Client Safety Management System o Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company processes and procedures o Maintain a high standard of organization and cleanliness within assigned work areas, "Clean as You Go" o Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives o Be flexible to ensure aircraft are delivered on time to customer o Perform other duties as directed by management for the benefit of the company, o o program or employee(s) o Associate Level; Can perform the above tasks with little or general supervision o Experienced Level; Can perform the above tasks with no supervision and can assist others

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Have ability to lift and utilize tools, materials, equipment and components in a manufacturing environment, within the client lifting standards (max 35 lb per person, 45 lb for 2 person)

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

High school diploma or GED and typically 1 or more years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
